TILOS
is a new-generation, light weight, highly mobile system, suited for cross
country travel, designed to solve different logistic problems.
TILOS
is a system formed by a multi-purpose wide body 4x4 towing vehicle, called VTL,
and a towed unit, called TU.
The
system is mobile, self-sufficient and does not need special equipment for the
loading and/or unloading of its components.
Thanks
to its characteristics, TILOS is a flexible and rational answer to the
requirements of modern logistics.
The
design is based on the essential consideration that only integrated systems can
grant operative efficiency in those areas where no facilities exist.
Both
VTL and TU can be equipped following the Clients needs and if available,
specifications.
The
TILOS SYSTEM can be used as Civil Protection Unit, Police Station, Rescue
Unit or Mobile Health Care Unit, More TILOS can provide a very efficient
and highly Mobile Hospital / Clinic.

TILOS
is a very unique product available on the international market.
TILOS
is a system composed by VTL ( tractor unit ) and TU ( towed unit ). The next
paragraph describes the VTL characteristics, while a detailed image gallery can
be found by clicking here.
VTL
is a 4x4 multi-purpose vehicle designed to achieve both a great towing
power and a great capacity. It has a diesel 168 HP turbo charged engine.
The
body of the vehicle is entirely built in ALUMINIUM alloy and is mounted on a
Mercedes Unimog 1700 L chassis.
Access to the vehicle is by means of a wing door on
the left side and by a wide rear ramp.
Ten windows can be found on both right and left side, four on the rear wall and
two hatches on the roof.
The great internal
capacity of the vehicle 12 m2 is coupled to a reduced weight
of the body which allows a very significant capacity of load.
The configuration of the towing unit in these pages is
that of an ambulance, completely equipped for first aid intervention and
reanimation purposes, but VTL can be equipped in a lot of different solutions on
the basis of the Clients needs.
The
TU is the towed unit of the system and contains its main function (first
aid center, consulting room, operating theater, or any other different solution
required by the Client).
The
body is made of aluminum alloy, fully insulated, mounted on six wheels and on a
special suspension system which allows cross country traveling reducing risks
for the equipment mounted inside.
The
unit is totally energy self-sufficient, since it has its own electricity
generator, water and fuel tanks, air conditioning plant, etc.
Access
to the unit is by means of two doors positioned on the front and on the rear
sides of the body.
The
first one leads to the technical room (power generator, pumps, air conditioning
unit, etc.).
The
second one is a large hatch door which, when lowered, becomes an access ramp.
When this last one is down, a second inner door is operating.
Windows
are provided on both sides and on the top of the unit in order to grant natural
light condition inside.
A
portion of the UNIT can be dedicated to rest and living room (including bathroom
and kitchen facilities) for the personnel who operates the Unit.
The
TU can be equipped as an operating theater
Now
you have a rough idea of the TILOS System.
Think about a possible use as mobile health center :
 |
VTL
is the tractor of the Unit which tows the TU where the operating theater or
the reanimation center has to be placed
|
 |
The
system reaches the area where has to work
|
 |
The
TU becomes a kind of a fixed structure, energy self sufficient,
where the personnel can operate, live and sleep |
 |
The
VTL turns to a very wide ambulance or rescue unit, which can be the shuttle
of the TU
|
 |
When
the activities have terminated, the system can be very quickly removed to
reach another area: no matter if by highway or cross-country roads
|
To
satisfy the same needs, using the traditional means available on the market, one
should use at least one or two ambulances, besides one or two specially equipped
trucks or containers mounted on trucks: its easy to find out how many drivers
are needed and how complicate it should be to operate so many units together.
Its
running cost are very low: maintenance is reduced to a minimum (the bodies are
made of aluminum).
TILOS
is the intelligent answer to any logistic need
